I am currently unable to open the Dataflow Editor in 3 of the 4 Power BI environments that I have access to. When opening the editor it will continually spin while trying to load the editor. Hi, The image below shows the tables in my lakehouse. They are from a Microsoft tutorial. Two of the tables (dimension_employee and dimension_stock_item) contain a binary field (a picture) and are not accepted as part of the default dataset. As a result, the synchronization with the default dataset stopped on them and fact_sale is not included as well. The button "Manage default Power BI Dataset" shows this:   However, on the Model tab of a SQL Endpoint, it's possible to see all the tables available, even the ones which are not included in the default dataset.  This seems to be a bug, I believe the Model tab should be synchronized with the default dataset, otherwise we will get strange errors if we try to use modeling features over tables which are not present in the default dataset. To test this, I tried to create a relationship between customer and sales table, one is in the dataset and the other is not. The result was a strange error message, complaining about the photo field in the stock_item table. The error message is a problem as well. Yesterday, all my datasets were refreshing just fine but today nothing happens. - The automatic refresh hasn't done anything. - When I press "Refresh now", I get a "popup" saying "preparing refresh" for a split second and then nothing happens.   The only way to update the data is to refresh the Desktop version and then upload it.    I have datasets connection to an on-premises database and one connecting to a sharepoint site. - The on-premises connection usually works perfect, but now nothing happens. - The sharepoint connection usually brings up an error,  if I try to refresh, but now nothing happens (I just tried it this time as a test, as it usually doesn't work automatically).   Can you please help troublefinding - It seems like an issue on you online portal somehow.   Thanks in advance.   // Tommy ... In previous versions of Power BI Desktop it was possible to add language specific captions and descriptions for tables and fields using the "cultures" part of the tabular model (e.g. the tmsl in the DataModelSchema file in templates (pbit)).   With the March update, these translations are no longer used in the Fields pane, and the raw names are shown instead. By not having friendly names in the model it becomes difficult and confusing for users to navigate it.   I hope either the March release has introduced another alternative for assigning friendly captions, or the translation feature will be reintroduced in the next release.   Thanks, Niels Kühnel ... I believe the behavior has changed for Ctrl+Z action. If the measure is tried out (hit Enter), Ctrl+Z action doesn't work anymore, so the previous state is not saved. Did anyone face the same change ? Or am I confusing something ? ... View more

I am running into an issue when using direct query with Databricks SQL Warehouses using the Azure Databricks Connector. I have text fields with single quote characthers in the string that need to be rendered in the report. When filtering for a value with an apostraphe the query returns null. Looking at the query history in databricks it looks like the SQL query being generated is using a second single quote to escape the apostraphe, but this is not the escape charachter in Databricks SQL.   Unless the string is prefixed with r, use \ to escape special characters (e.g. ' or \). If the string is prefixed with r there is no escape character. I've struck this bug 3 times now with the Sep 22 build, different machines, different PBIX files. When I open a PBIX file with Query Groups, the queries that were in groups have all been moved into the Other Queries group, and every query has been set to Enable Load. It's not happening 100% of the time, but 3 times in about a week is maybe 10-20% of the time.   I'm hoping the Sep 30 build fixes it, but as the silent builds are never even announced, let alone detailed with Release Notes (like any mature product would do), that could be just me clutching at straws. ... Hi all,   Not sure it is just me or everyone else but i run into the following error message since last Saturday.    I used a custom connector + on-premises gateway and the data refresh works just fine (scheduled + manual). After the April 2022 update to Power BI desktop (MS Store version), I have been unable to to do full refreshes on large files. I get the following error:  "If schemaTableResult is present and populated, expect the same number of columns in each TableResult". After a number of attempts to solve the problem with various large data files, I eventually tried installing the March 2022 version via the archived dowload page at Previous monthly updates to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Docs.
