Power BI Desktop is very slow when refresh or edit

For some time now I am having an issue that queries in Power BI Desktop are very slow.

Especially when I refresh them or do modeling.

At the same time the very same queries will only take seconds to refersh or edit in Excel.

So at last today I figured out that it was Windows Defender antivirus causing the issue.

I excluded some paths and processes from scanning and I am back to seconds instead of minutes delays.

I recommend excluding the folling item from your antivirus.

If you have anything to add to this list, please share.

Hope this helps.

P.S. and Power BI team could really have an arcticle about it, or something.
