I;ve seen very similar problems on other issues, and through April , it has been suggested this problem will be fixed in the next version 

I have tested from these versions

2.128.1380.0	02-May-24
2.128.1177.0	24-Apr-24
2.128.751.0	07-Apr-24

Our latest approach has been to republish semantic models with 2.128.1380.0 and connect from PBI desktop 2.128.1380.0

At least we can connect but get regular error messages pop up  like the below.  These messages can be  ignored, but they would pop up several  times - would love to know what these messages mean
