intermittent issue when calling refresh outcomes api

Hello,

we are experencing an intermittent issue where newly developed software is calling the refresh api to get the outcome of the refresh and its failing with the error below.  This is the outcome of the call of the API, however the report does in fact complete successfully.

Error ==> Failed to Refresh DataSet :: Operation returned an invalid status code 'Forbidden' (Check API Permissions => DataSet.ReadWrite.All)

Status: Investigating

Hi @NeilHenderson

Based on the above information , I suggest you can create a support ticket . Because API calls are involved, you may need to check the logs. The forum does not have this access, you can ask for specialized help by creating a support ticket.

Hi @NeilHenderson

1. When did your issue happen ?

2. If you refresh the dataset manually , not by API , can the data be refreshed successfully?

3. Can you provide your api and the screenshot of your error message ?

Hello,

The report refresh always finishes successfully and the software that calls the API to refresh works as expected, the software runs the API every x seconds to get the results of the refresh and this is when we get that error.

If i run manually it would work as expected.

Hi @NeilHenderson

From the log you provide , I saw the same data set was refreshed successfully last Wednesday.

This seems to be an episodic problem. Are you currently at the same reported error again? Or do you just want to know the cause of the previously reported error?

Hello,

Just so i am making sense and clear.  The problem happens on different reports on different days there doesnt appear to be any trend.  Even when the API to understand the last refresh outcome fails and provides this error the actual report does refresh successfully.

The reason for this is the software supplier advised that its a microsft issues as they just call the API which advises of the outcome of the refresh request, this is causing me some difficulties as these are false positives as advised the rpeort refreshes successfully.

Kind Regards

Neil
