Urgent: Update to Power BI pro

Hello,

 

I work in a company where several users use our report to access critical data. Why do suddenly our app requested that users upgraded to PowerBI Pro? We did not have any early warning about this and can't solve on our own

In the official document can see:

For app consumers, there are two options.

  • The workspace for this app is not in a Power BI Premium capacity: All business users need Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) licenses to view your app.
  • The workspace for this app is in a Power BI Premium capacity: Business users without Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) licenses in your organization can view app content. However, they can't copy the reports, or create reports based on the underlying datasets. Read What is Power BI Premium? for details.

If your app consumner didn't need Pro license before but need it now, please check if the workspace capacity is moved from Premium to shared.

We are premium users, but there is no option to upgrade the workspace to a premium. We are still being affected by this and didn't manage to solve it.

Hi @lsalek ,

Do you mean your account license type is Premium Per User like below? If so, in the workspace setting, the "Premium per user" license mode is available.

If you have bought a premium capacity, in the workspace setting, both "Premium per user" and "Premium per capacity" are available, you should also select a capacity in the "Capacity" option.

To verify if you have bought premium capacity, you can go to Admin portal>Capacity settings.
