Bug: Power BI desktop does not allow dollars in the USA

Report in Power BI Desktop with regional settings English (United States) show money column data in Euros. There is no option to change that to Dollars via (select column) =>Modeling => Formatting => Currency.

See screenshot: USA == Euro.

In case the picture is not clear, a close up

And no, there is not a single $ (USA) option among all currency options.

Could use $ (Canada) but that would be loosing 20 cents on the dollar...

Which version of Power BI Desktop are you using? I just tested on version 2.48.4792.721 64-bit (July 2017) of Power BI Desktop but cannot repro the same issue on my side. Please refer to my screenshot below.

I'm using:

Power BI Version: 2.48.4792.721 64-bit (July, 2017)

Regional settings (Windows): English (US)

Power BI => File => Options & Settings => Options => Regional Settings: English (US)

The Data Source is a Direct Query Azure SQL database running in Azure region "West Europe". I'm also physically located in that region. That shouldn't be of influence but it might be.

The data is US$ and though the numbers add up correctly, the Euro symbols showing up in the visuals don't make my boss happy.

I also try to connect to Azure SQL with DirectQuery but still cannot repro the same issue. Have you tried to uninstall Power BI Desktop completely from your machine, and then reinstall it to see the result?

Downloaded and reinstalled the latest version, which happens to be the same 2.48.4792.721 64-bit (July, 2017).

The problem persists.

Hello,

How did you solve this issue? I have the latest version of Power BI, and I am having the same problem. Simply there doesn't appear to be $ United States currency.

Yes, my regional settings is set to United States too.
