Power BI Desktop: Wrong object moves after copy pasting

When I select an object and press Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V to create a copy, the copy appears and is selected. However, when trying to move the copy with the arrow keys the original object - which is no longer selected - moves instead. Only after clicking the copied object it can be moved with the arrow keys.

 

That's either highly counterintuitive design or a bug. I'm using Power BI Desktop version 2.60.5169.4101 64-bit (Juli 2018).

 

I create some object:

I copy and paste the object. The focus seemingly switches to the new object as indicated by the selection border:

However when pressing the right arrow key the original object moves:

I have reported this issue internally: CRI 79347338.  Will update here once I get any information.
