.pbix size issue

Hi Team,

I have loaded across 2 million records using power bi import in PBI desktop version. After loading, the size of .pbix file was 210mbs but when I drew some visuals/charts the size of file was drastically increased to 1.2gb. So when I tried to publish, PBI desktop threw an error 'too large file to publish'. So I dropped out all my visuals, still the size of file is 1.8gbs. I need previous 210mb file size so I can publish this on PBI service.

Regards,

Piyush

Hi @piyushj,

Have you added any images in the .pbix file before? If it is, delete the images in report will not actually reduce the size. You need to rename the .pbix to .zip, then you will find that the background images are stored in the folder Report\StaticResources\RegisteredResources, please delete images here.
