Power BI Desktop login error

I can not login to Power BI service from Desktop, whenever I try after typing the email I receive an HTTP 400 error message (connection failed).  After that I receive the following erre message:

My internet connection is ok, I can update the data source in Desktop, just can not connect to the service.  I am using the recent March update, but the issue is not new, it has started earlier this year. If I roll back to 2023 november I can use the login function.

 

Interestingly if I switch to another user account on the same computer the problem disappears so it seems that there is a conflict with my windows settings but I can not figure out what could be the problem.

You mentioned that if you change the other user account ,  you can login to Power BI Service , so have you considered that it could be a problem with the account ? If you want to log in to your account on Desktop and upload the report to Service, you need to make sure that your account is logged in to Power BI Service.

If your account can log in to Power BI Service, then you should be able to log in properly on Power BI Desktop.

Using another Windows Account on the same computer solves the problem. Since that I have turned off Windows Firewall and I could login to Power BI service. Strange thing is that Power BI Desktop is allowed to communicate in the firewall settings.
