When saving a new version of Power BI into a shared drive, the file type extension drops off and file explorer can't open the file.

Status: Needs Info

Hi  @C9therine

Based on the information you've provided so far, there's no way for me to determine the exact cause of the problem. Please provide more detailed information.

  1. Has the same error been reported before?
  2. What is your Desktop version?
  3. What is the connected data source? What kind of connection method is used?
  4. Has anyone else had the same problem?
  5. Can you provide a screenshot or video for reference ?

I get the same!

When saving as in Power BI with a ".x" at the end of the file name (for example in a version control "v1.2")

It thinks the ".x" is the file extension and doesn't save the file as a .pbix (and saves as a "2" file in the above example).

Thanks.
