"Daisy Chaining" Datasets

Does anyone know if it is possible to use multiple datasets while creating a Data Model? Essentially what I am trying to do is make separate building blocks to be used on various reports, but link them only when necessary.

For example, let's say you ran a Dealership/Service Shop

Would it be possible to make a dataset for all the vehicles, purchases, and service records separately and then link the datasets in another data model?

You might want a report on vehicles in inventory, but don't particularly need the service records or purchases in the report. Additionally, another report might want to see the entire model with service records linked to vehicles, linked to vehicle types.

Is this type of modelling possible in Power BI?

Hi @jribs

Yes this is now possible with the new DirectQuery for Power BI Datasets and AAS where you can chain up to 3 datasets.
