how to remove the (blank) or null from slicer?

I have a table which contain data date from 1st Jan 2013 to 31st Dec 2016 and in second table i have data of events which contain christmas , new year information but when we made relation inbetween these two tables its showing blank on year and month slicer how can i resolved it.

Note :  Converting slicer to table and then choose filter no blank value  is not working so please share the solution except this.

Thanks for reply , its resolved after updating the date table ,,... i found date table should have dates tilll 31st dec 2016 , currently its getting update to till date.

Most likely the second table contains a date value which the join can't find in your first table. 

Anyways, one work around is to set up a report level filter to exclude any blanks. Something like "ID is not Blank"
