Power BI licensing : convince a client to buy Power BI

Hi Community,

I am trying to convince a client to buy Power Bi Pro license, but I am confused about the following points:

Is there any relation between Power Bi and Azure ?

Does using Power Bi require an office365 account ?

Hi @DataVitalizer, 

We can purchase Power BI Pro licenses through Microsoft Office 365 or through a certified Microsoft partner. To purchase Power BI Pro license in Office 365, the user needs to be Global administrator or Billing administrator role. After we purchase the Pro license, we can assign the Power BI pro license to users both in office 365 and Azure. For detail information, please see below documents:

Power BI is built on Azure. It uses Azure Active Directory to authenticate when we sign in or sign up Power BI. All data and medadata are stored in Azure BLOB and Azure SQL database. For more information, see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-admin-power-bi-security
