Error refreshing data thru PBI app

Hi All,

 

Anyone is encountring the error below and is there a fix for it? This is happening everytime a data refresh needs to happen. Even forced refresh does not work but works well when refreshed directly on the desktop.

Some more info is needed to further suggest on this issue:

  • In which workspace is your report hosted? Standard or premium?
  • Is this issue happening with other reports or just one report?
  • Did you try publishing this dataset to some other workspace and see if the issue still persists?
  • Has this report ever refreshed on the service?
  • What are the data sources of this report?
  • Are you using any gateway for report refresh? If yes then what version.

 

Please note that there are no known issues which might be causing this so need to understand a bit more.

  • In which workspace is your report hosted? Standard or premium? Pro
  • Is this issue happening with other reports or just one report? All Reports
  • Did you try publishing this dataset to some other workspace and see if the issue still persists? Tested with Same error
  • Has this report ever refreshed on the service? It was working fine until 30th August then started to fail
  • What are the data sources of this report? from SQL server, works fine when refreshed thru desktop
  • Are you using any gateway for report refresh? If yes then what version. Schedule.PNGGatewat.PNG

Hi @ravindranraman 

 

Please can you check if you are able to connect to the database from the server where you powerbi gateway is installed by doing telnet or directly via ssms, it looks like some change in firewall has cuased this issue, also check if the account that's being used for connecting to sql database is still working or not.

Hi @nitishsh91 , seems this has been automatically fixed. The refresh is working as per normal
