Custom Python Visuals - Publish to web

Hi everyone!

I have found many topics related here, but none of them seems to get a proper answer to get it done.

I have aded some custom visuals using Python on my dashboard, and they work fine on desktop and also on service.

The problem is when I publish them to the web - I get the message "Publish to the web does not currently support python visuals"

As from this topic , from february on it seems to be possible to publish custom visuals using python.

Any ideas of what can be wrong with my report?

Thank you!!!

Hi @mcemim

It's a limitation of "publish to web", you can refer it here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-publish-to-web#limitations

If you'd like to share the R visual report, you'd probably try other way to share instead of publish to web. You can check out here for more hints:

Hi @mcemim ,

There are quite a lot of limitations with Publish to web primarily because it is available to all people through a simple embed URL link.

Not having python visuals is also one of those many limitations.

You can submit an idea for this here so that this can be considered for future by the power bi team.

Give a thumbs up if this post helped you in any way and mark this post as solution if it solved your query !!!

Hi, the topic clarifies that you can publish python visuals to Power Bi Service. Publish to web is a different thing that allows you to create a link to share. Right now it is a limitation for publish to web feature. You can't publish to web a report with python visuals.

Sorry

Hi!

Thank you fo the prompt answer.

Is there any plans on making this available?

There is no readmap for it yet. Let me see if I can reach the partners to ask them. I'll edit this post if I get an answer.
