I am trying to setup a gateway to connect to a customer’s DB from our company’s premium capacity. I added a user from the customer as a guest user on our capacity, but is it possible to have them configure the gateway so we can refresh their data in our premium capacity?
@wbriggs I "think" this would work. I've done this cross domain/cross tenant within my org... so it might work. The caveat being I don't know if there were any relationships tied together in the Azure tenant space for the two tenants to work together.
Have them install the gateway in their domain and use a credential from your domain in the gateway setup. The user/owner of the gateway will have permissions in your tenant and the gateway should be visible. Then all the connections to the source systems would obviously need to be their domain creds.
Thanks for the response. That was what I was thinking of doing as well. Would it work for mulitple customers, where you would just have mulitple gateway clusters?
@wbriggs I forget the exact name but this "universal" authentication should mean that you could use the same gateway in multiple tenants. It is more of Power BI recognizing that the user is coming from there.
