Hi There,
I was wondering if you can help me, we started using the new composite models functionality with datasets and a end user of mine in a different team connected to our powerbi dataset. This dataset is connected to a bunch of Sharepoint based excel documents in this report. When he publishes the report and tries to configure it in dataset -> settings the "gateway connection" and "data source connection" sections no longer appear and a schedule can't be configured alongside the error:
"the following data sources don't currently support refresh".
I tried using composite models myself and was successfully able to create a report linked to the above dataset and another sharepoint excel file. Can you help me to enable my colleague to be able to refresh?
Thanks for your help,
Mark
Hi , @MarkPHarris1
Not sure if you missed some important details, have you checked the permissions of the sharing dataset?

Hi Gilbert
Thanks for the reply, we are both using the same dataset which is why it is confusing. Do you know of any other cause?
Thanks,
Mark
Could this be because the other dataset is connecting to an existing PBIX dataset where the scheduled refresh is configured there?
Also make sure that the way you are connecting to the SharePoint Excel file is the same way your colleague is too?
I think it might be different in their dataset which is causing the difference and not being able to configure it in the Power BI Service.
