Hi All,
I have published few reports based on direct mode and after publishing them into servisce while opening we are encountering error meaasge like "Before the data import for {Table Name} finished it's data source timed out."
Can any one help me to overcome this issue.
Thanks,
Anand
Hi @AnandNamburi ,
You can use Clear Cache in the Options and setting-Data Load of your report, publish to My Workspace to refresh, if successful, publish to the correct Workspace.
This is the related document, you can view this content:

Hi. It sounds like you data source is too slow for direct query and it throws a timeout before solving the visualization. Direct Query can't be applied with every database engine or scenario. Which is your data source? is it cloud or onpremise?
I would recommed the following readings for Direct Query:
Limitations: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-use-directquery#limitations-of-direct...
Implications: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-directquery-about#implications-of-usi...
Design Model for Direct Query: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/guidance/directquery-model-guidance
The last one it's the most important to get a good performance. I always recommend using import data to my users except for really specific scenarios or requirements because it's not that easy to make it work properly.
I hope that helps,
Happy to help!
