Hi
I am just getting to grips with Power BI and am struggeling with getting my data into it.
In this instance, I have a folder full of spreadsheets that I use Power Query to merge together into a 2 million rows Power Query sheet.
However this cannot be imported back into Excel for creating any charts so i found my way to Power BI...
My issue is that when I use File/Import/Excel
I can see the underlying Power Query table all 2 million rows of it but I cant seem to use this to create any charts.
What am I missunderstanding here.

Hi @martinl,
Do you connect to your Excel in Power BI Service or Power BI Desktop? If you use Power BI Desktop, connect to your Excel file via “Get Data->Excel” entry as follows.
And actually, you don’t need to firstly connect to the folder full of spreadsheets use Power Query and then connect to Excel in Power BI Desktop. You can directly connect to the folder using “Get Data->File->Folder” entry in Power BI Desktop, you are able to merge data of theses spreadsheets into one table and create charts in Power BI Desktop.
However, if you connect to Excel in Power BI Service, please connect to it via “Get Data->Files->Local File” entry and then choose “Import Excel data into Power BI”.
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
Are you using close and apply at the top left.I think you might be still in the query editor.Once yo close and apply you should be able to see your table and stard analysing your data.
