Can anyone advise or help in connecting to a SAP ERP database? Currently, i only see xtractor universal form THEOBALD option available @ 15000USD. Is there another way?

If you are using hana as backend database of SAP ERP. Then you can use the Hana database connection and use elect queries on hana tables to get data in Power BI.

Here is an article about make SAP ERP data accessible via OData feeds over the Netweaver Gateway. Could you go to check if it helps in your scenario?
In addition, as there isn't an easy way to connect SAP ERP data with Power BI currently, I would suggest you add it as an idea on Power BI Ideas forum to improve Power BI on this feature.
