New fields from Bex Query not seen in Power BI

Hello Team,

I have created a Power BI Report based on BEX Query using Import option. Now I have added a new field to Bex query but this field is not visible in Edit queries of Power BI. How do I bring this new field into Power BI? I had read a post from year 2016 that bringing new metadata from Bex query is not possible. Is it the same till now or is there any way I can get the new field into Power BI?

Regards,

Meha

I had a similar issue:

  1. Initially I had existing PowerQuery using existing BEx query
  2. Added new field to BEx query
  3. Not able to see new field in PowerQuery when trying to add the new field in "Added Items" step.

I solved this by refreshing the preview data in the query. Seems that this is then also refreshing the data source table. It's very unintuitive that using the "Added items" feature the PowerQuery is actually reading the preview data from the previous "Navigation" step but that would seem to explain it as even manually adding the new field via advanced editor didn't work.

Hi @pantmeha

According to this article,

You can perform BEx queries in Power BI Desktop by enabling a specific property, as shown in the following image:

Hello Maggie,

My issue is, I already have a Power BI report built on Bex Query and now I have added a new field to my Bex query. This field is not reflecting in Edit queries in Power BI. How how i see this new field on Power BI side?
