This dashboard was developed by the students’ team in the Institute of Business Intelligence.
I used to follow a creative approach to solving business problems. And I try to teach it to my students. Proudly, I present to you the data-journalistic project about meat consumption. Two questions were discussed: meat lovers’ lifespan and the threat of "meat" hunger.
Title page
The author proposed a quite interesting title page. We are starting the dashboard discovery with a short questionnaire. The first block is about meat hunger and humanity’s willingness to use soy substitutes. If we click on the Yes or No, text boxes with comments will appear. We can conclude that population growth and agricultural areas reducing, meat production has been increased increasing. So we will not eat soy.
As for the second question about vegetarians’ and meat lovers’ lifespan. It turns out that there is no strong correlation between meat consumption and lifespan. There are statistics by continents and regions on the lifespan page.
Infographic
To continue the storyline, open the infographic. On the market page, volumes of meat consumption and production are compared from 1990 to predicted numbers of 2030. Consumption of beef, pork, and poultry are compared on the ribbon chart. As well as its dynamics in Russia and in the World.
The filter allows setting meat type to see its production and consumption dynamics on the left and import/export balance.
On the lifespan page, The bubble chart represents lifespan according to persons’ meat consumption. Vegetarians are highlighted by green whereas meat lovers by red. Japan is a long-living country. And there are a lot of meat lovers as well as in India. However, the average lifespan is very low. Also, the Spanish eat a huge amount of meat and live more than 80 years. Whereas the Mongols eat horse meat and live not more than 70 years.
As you can see, lifespan is not related to meat consumption. The economic and social conditions in the country affect this indicator much more.

funny
Nice work.
