Users Assignements for Capacity SKU P1

IMAGE DODI.pngTenant has configured a P1 SKU for their workspaces.

As of yesterday and today, after moving users from Power BI Pro licensing to Capacity, users are now receiving a message to sign up for licensing now to use Power BI. See message and let us know what needs to be done to correct.

Do I need to assign the users a specific role in the portal or Entra?

Thanks

Hi @yoshi556 ,
Thanks for @lbendlin  reply.
Here's what I've added.
Users accessing content in the Advanced Capacity workspace do not need a Pro license, but their level of access is determined by the role assigned to them in the workspace. Users who view content without a Pro license should be assigned the Viewer role in the workspace. Assigning them as "Administrator", "Member" or "Contributor" will prompt them to obtain a Pro license.
While users with the Viewer role in Advanced Capacity workspaces do not need a Pro license to view content, they still need a Power BI Pro or Premium Per User (PPU) license to create content or publish reports. Ensure that users who need to publish content or create workspaces have the appropriate license.
You can check out these two documents for more details

A capacity is different from user licenses, except for PPU cases.

A premium capacity requires that anyone who wants to distribute content trough premium workspaces have a Pro license. It does not require any license for app users.

So yes, some users may require a Pro license, but only if they are content creators/distributors.
