Unable to publish to web

Hi

I am registered as admin and publish to web is allowed in the tenant settings, but I am still unable to publish new reports to the web. It gives me the Contact Admin message.

Please assist with this regard.

Regards

Wian

Hi Guys

@v-xuding-msft @KBO @nandukrishnavs @Greg_Deckler

The issue is fixed. The problem was on my Kaspersky Antivirus. The Banner block restricted my ability to publish to web.

To fix the issue just allow PowerBI.com on the list to ignore the banner block.

Wian

@WianFourie - Make sure to check what @nandukrishnavs and @KBO have said. I did have this happen to me once where everything was set fine but I got the contact admin page. I went and verified the settings, went back to the report and everything worked fine. So, I have seen this once as an intermittent issue.

Hi @KBO

Please elaborate on the specific group set up as far as I am concerned I am admin on all workspaces.

Regards

Hi @WianFourie ,

admin on workspces dosn't mean Power BI admin :).

Look into the settings - right upper corner beside your picture (tree dots)- then choose admin portal - if can see more than one tab than you are admin :).

Best,

Kathrin

Thank @KBO

I am definitely admin. Could you please elaborate on the "Specific Group" set up. I don't know how to check for this.

Regards

Wian

Hi @WianFourie ,

I mean this:

admin.jpg

You can create a specific group. But you arn't able to see the other point - and that is not connected to this secific group.

Kathrin

@KBO I understand Better now thanks

Are there a manual way to check for updates for PBI? Maybe this is an update issue.

Your admin has to enable it and choose "Allow existing and new codes"

@WianFourie

Not sure why it is not allowing you to choose "Allow existing and new code".

I have tested in my tenant and it is working for me. See the below snapshot.

@nandukrishnavs

The problem is I don't have the option to choose, "allow existing and new codes".

Maybe it is an update error, but then again I can't seem to find a "check for updates" on the web app.

PS. I am a pro license holder.

@WianFourie  Do you have tenant admin access? not workspace admin

Refer to this :https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/admin/service-admin-portal#publish-to-web

Nandu Krishna

@nandukrishnavs

I have Tenant Admin access. This is my view.

Hi @WianFourie ,

 may be a temporary error in the service. Try it again later today and tomorrow If this dosn't work - create a ticket for Microsoft.

Best,

Kathrin
