Context:
In a few workspaces I have single datasets that serve multiple reports (sample image below). As the reports outlive their utility, we like to 'decommission' them and archive the PBIX for possible later reference or revival.
Question: When I 'download this file' for the 'subordinate' reports it defaults to a 'live connection'. Don't I need to download the data as well? If so, how can I force it to also download the data?
Or do you altogether recommend a different process for 'sunsetting' reports & datasets no longer in use?

After a bit of research, I have determined that there is no solution to download the PBIX for a Live Connection report. There is also no solution to convert a Live Connection report to an Import mode report. This is unfortunate. You can vote for the change here at Power Bi ideas.
