Hi everyone and thanks for your help in advance.
We have a report in our Power BI space that allows Salespeople to view their area and sales by customer etc. which is filtered by Row Level Security. All Salespeople are added to the "Salesperson Row Level Security" group within Row-Level Security on the Power BI website, and the following is what was used as the DAX filter when creating the role in Power BI Desktop:
[Users Email] = Userprincipalname().
The issue we are having is that some Salespeople are able to log in and see the data for all salespeople and not just their role. Using the "Test As Role" function in the Security area on the Power BI website I have identified a handful of users who can see all of the saleforce's data, but when "Testing As Role" for these same users in the desktop version everything works correctly and I can only see data for their sales area. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? This just started for us today even though we've made no changes to the report itself.
I'd start by checking what permissions those users have directly on the workspace the dataset sits in. If it's anything higher than Viewer then RLS is not applied.
Thanks for your response! All of the salespeople having issues with this report only have Read access to this individual report and are not members for the entire Workspace. There is an email group that contains all Salespeople at our company which was a member of this Workspace, we have since removed this and the issues are still persisting.
