Refreshes Failing Again. This time "no gateway"

I got no support the last time I posted about refreshes failing, so I rebuilt all my reports from scratch to make the queries more efficient. Now I'm getting lots of failures for a new reason. It keeps saying there is no gateway available. Except there is. It's there, it's online, the service says it's there, but then the refresh fails anyway. What is happening and how can I make this stop? I have to refresh my pbix files on the desktop app and republish them multiple times a day just to keep my reports up to date. It's ridiculous. I can't get any work done because I'm too busy manually doing something that is supposed to be automated. This crap has been going on for two months now. Microsoft, fix these stupid gateway programs.

Here is a similar thread about the same issue, in which a workaround is mentioned. Could you go to check if it helps in your scenario

 

If that is not the case, I would suggest you create a support ticket on Power BI Support page for better assistance on this issue. Smiley Happy

@v-ljerr-msftI don't think that applies. I am using personal mode because none of my reports can refresh at all using the enterprise gateway. The credentials to the analysis services are apparently not valid with the enterprise gateway even though they work fine with personal. So that's another thing that's broken with these gateways but nobody ever answered me when I posted about it to the issues forum a month ago, so I gave up and just used personal. Maybe I should just give up in general?

@v-ljerr-msftIssue posted here. But then again it was also originally posted here back in June and that is still unresolved so I honestly don't hold out much hope. I don't understand why it is this difficult to get these gateways to work, or why nobody at Microsoft seems to know either.
