QuickBooks App Gone?

Does Microsoft still provide a QuickBooks app?  I tried searching for it at AppSource and within Power BI Desktop, but I can't find it.

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

I contacted Microsoft support on this yesterday and received the response that the Content Packs that support the Apps in Power BI Service have been deprecated and replaced by the the new Template Apps. More information can be found in this blog post: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/template-apps-update-preview-is-now-available/ .

They also recommended to download the sample QuickBooks Online Sample Template App and then follow the steps in the articles below (sample app found from the first link). They said "This is only for sample and everything is deprecated now. It will be implemented in future" so I'm not sure exactly what that means.

I'd like to help and address your concern. Are you referring to QuickBooks Online (QBO) desktop app or QBO mobile app? If so, QBO and QuickBooks Desktop (Windows and Mac) have their own platforms that work independently. The mobile app version for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is unavailable.

However, if you're referring to an app and connect it to your QBDT software. You can go to the Apps Center from the menu and search for an app from there.

Hi @rabernethy4 ,

Yes, you could still find it from service or desktop.

Thank you, however, the image of the app you listed is from Acterys, not Microsoft.  And the documentation you provided uses this link for the app: https://dxt.powerbi.com/getdata/services/quickbooks-online.  But when I click that link, it just redirects me to the Power BI home page.  I tried searching from the AppSource Web site, but I still don't see it.

Hi @rabernethy4 ,

If you have installed it before, it will still work. If not, then you can't find it now.

I'm having the same problem.  The Intuit Quickbooks Online app is not in AppSource, although all of the documentation says to find it there or here:  https://dxt.powerbi.com/getdata/services/quickbooks-online (per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-connect-to-quickbooks-online).  It appears that the service no longer exists or is down.

Will this app be returning?

p.s. I belive the Acterys QuickBooks App can be used with your own data for free as a QuickBooks Online Template App now.

but its cost is quite high, $139 per month. and the QB itself costs $34 per month.
