Hi,
Has anyone come upon this issue where identity fields (image below) don't show in an excel report/pivot table when connecting to the data model? This has happened after updating the PBI model into the new view. PBI Desktop version is January 2021.
View in PBI:
View in Excel pivot table:
As you can see there are no fields in the pivot table in excel. This is happening for all columns which are primary keys in the data model - for instance the Date field from the DIM_Calendar as well.
Any tips on how to solve this?
Thank you!
PS: I'm new in posting here and was unsure wether I should have posted this on the Desktop thread instead
Hi @bcardigos ,
I'm using the latest version of Power BI Desktop and the feature works fine for me.
Since you are using the old version application, please try upgrading to the latest version and check if the issue still exists

Hi @bcardigos
What happens if you search for Channel in the Excel Pivot can you find the column name?
I sometimes find the searching in Excel with pivot tables can be a little tricky.
That is unusual as it works for me.
The column is not hidden by some chance?
They are not hidden in the model.
The temporary solution I have found is to add another column identical to the ID column however it is not ideal since I'm duplicating columns in a data model which is already quite heavy...
