Hi, can Power BI free license use the Embed in SharePoint Online or Embed the Power BI project report in SharePoint Online feature? Or is it just restricted to Power BI Pro?
What is the difference between a free and a Pro license?
Thank you.

Hi @anonymous2 ,
Power BI Free users are not able to view content shared to them by others. Unless the content is hosted in Premium capacity.
In addition, you need to purchase a Power BI Pro license if you want to implement the ability to share with others in Power BI.
In a nutshell
A Free user cannot share with others or view reports shared or otherwise embedded by others. He needs at least a Power BI Pro license.
To achieve your needs, either purchase a Power BI Pro license or purchase Power BI Premium capacity and host the content on it.

Access to a Power BI report embedded in SharePoint online requires either a Pro license, PPU license, or premium capacity:

Hi, I have a trial for the Power BI Pro license. It is said that only Pro or Premium can embed the SharePoint and users only need a free Power BI license to view reports embedded in Sharepoint Online. What if I have Pro trial then I use the embed and then the trial expires. Will the report still be there?
I published the report from Power Bi desktop to Power BI service then copied the URL and pasted it in the Power BI report link in the SharePoint web part in Home page and it works. So this way works with Power Bi free license right? How about who can view the report and who cannot? How to manage it using this way?
It's not about the license of the author, it's about the viewer's license. The embed will show an error message to people viewing the SharePoint page without a Power BI Pro or Premium license.
@otravers From this link, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-embed-report-spo, it is said that "users only need a free Power BI license to view reports embedded in Sharepoint Online." This is valid if the author hosts it using Pro license right?
If you read it carefully you'll see that this applies only only to a premium capacity workspace.
@otravers Okay then, thank you. How about the method I use in the picture above? Is it applicable? What's the limitation?
We've been talking about the method in your screenshot all along. I already answered, people will see an error if they don't have a paid license unless the report is in a Premium capacity. We're running in circles here....
@otravers oh, my bad. Thank you for answering. So, to conclude, to host or view, needs a Pro or Premium license right?
