The personal gateway was working fine through Friday, August 4. Monday, August 7 it wasn't working and I couldn't get it to start. I uninstalled the Personal Gateway using Programs and Features - obviously a mistake. I deleted the appdata/local/personal gateway directory. Attempting to reinstall the latest personal gateway I get the error:
The on-premises data gateway(personal mode) installation has failed. Learn more.
It looks like you are trying to reinstall. Please uninstall the current version first.
The learn more link does not provide a solution to the problem. How do you uninstall the personal gateway after you uninstall it such that a clean install can take place?

Hi @Rebennett99,

1.CClean was run and did not work.
Rebooting my computer did not work.
I was in the middle of writing -
1. CClean did not work.
2. Rebooting my machine did not work.
3. Checking the log for the appropriate registry key would be nice ... if a logfile was available. That post was based on an old version that provided a log file. The newest version does not provide a log file.
Frustrating. A poorly coded product.

That was it! I deleted the key entries in the registry as indicated in the log file, rebooted, and then I was able to install the personal gateway.
Thanks.
