Hi, @Ibrahim_shaik

As @tharunkumarRTK says, you need to install a standard gateway, here are some basic processes and steps:

1.Complete your report in Power BI Desktop. Click in the upper-right corner to sign in to your Power BI Service account. Click File >>Publish>>Publish to Power BI>> select the Power BI workspace you want to publish to>> click select>> wait for the publish to succeed.

2. Install a standard gateway. You can click the link below to go directly to the gateway download page or click the download arrow in the upper right corner of Power BI Service to download the gateway to your computer.

Power BI Gateway | Microsoft Power BI

You can click on the link below to learn more about the two modes of the gateway:

On-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

To configure the workflow of the gateway, you can click on the second link in the tharunkumarRTK reply.

The basic process for configuring gateway and data source connections in Power BI Service is as follows:

1.In Power BI, click the little gear in the top right corner >> Click Manage connections and gateways:

vjianpengmsft_6-1709874766723.png

2. At on premises data gateways page, You can view the gateways installed on the current account and the gateways that are shared with you by other accounts. At connections page, You can see that you have configured the data source connection. You need to click on the one above New to add a new connection. On the right, a link configuration page will pop up.

vjianpengmsft_8-1709875170301.png

Select your gateway in the first input box:

Select MySQL for Connection Type,

And fill in your voucher and other relevant information according to your actual situation. After you have filled in the relevant information, click the Create button below:

3. Go to the workspace where your report is located, find your semantic model and click on the three dots next to it:

Click Settings:

Unfold Gateway and cloud connection and select the connection you just configured:

vjianpengmsft_13-1709875968644.png

4. Expand the Refresh tab below to configure a refresh schedule for your semantic model:

In Power BI, there is a limit to the number of times different licenses can be refreshed in a day, and here are some of the official documentation you need to use:

Configure scheduled refresh - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Connect to cloud data sources in the Power BI service - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Troubleshoot refresh scenarios - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Types of licenses for Power BI business users - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Power BI Premium Per User - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi, @Ibrahim_shaik

Thank you very much for your reply. You can discover a Cloud option in the Connection of Power BI Service, as shown in the following image:

vjianpengmsft_0-1709881590628.png

vjianpengmsft_1-1709881614489.png

Only the data sources in this list do not need a gateway, and there is no MySQL in this list.

Yeah I have checked, there is no MySQL connection type.

Thank you.

@Ibrahim_shaik

As far as I know, you cannot connect to MySQL datasource with out on premises data gateway.
Info: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/mysql-database

setup onpremises data gateway: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/service-gateway-install

and install MySQL driver on your gateway server. (you might have installed it on your machine to use mySQL from power bi desktop). Then configure the on premises connection in power bi service. After that you will be able to map your publised dataset with the new configured connection and can refresh it from service.

If the post helps please give a thumbs up
