Is it absolutely required to have/purchase capacity for "Users owns data"?

Is it absolutely required to have/purchase capacity for "Users owns data" (Embed for your Organization) or will using Pro/PPU individual license suffice?

If one has a custom application and uses the "Masteruser" approach for embedding PBI reports inside the custom application using a Pro/PPU licensee for the Masteruser - Is it also required to have the workspace to be assigned to a paid capacity (A/EM SKU)? Or would the Pro/PPU Masteruser license be the only license required for "User owns Data" Embedding?

Unless you want to use some Premium features, there is no need to purchase additional.

Yeah we have Pro licenses for both the authors and consumers (end-users).
Is still a capacity based A or EM SKU needed?

If the author & consumers have a PPU license (or are upgraded to PPU) - what Premium features would they be missing out on by not having a A or EM capacity associated with the workspace where the reports are hosted?

Hi @cyclist007 ,

If you want to have the power to create reports and applications and share them with others, then you need to purchase a PPU or PRO license. But your shared objects must also have a PRO/PPU license to interact with you properly.

However, if you host your workspace on Premium capacity, then your shared objects do not need a PRO/PPU to view your shared content.

Premium and Pro licenses do not work together, even if you have Premium, you need to purchase a PPU/PRO license if you want to create reports.

PPU/PRO is a user-based license.
Premium is a capacity-based license.
