Gateway fresh failing - two data sources excel and sql

Hi all

I am trying to do a bi project using two data sources - an excel file and sql. The excel file is on a shared drive and i have specified the full path within power BI desktop.

When using refresh within BI desktop it all works fine.

However when trying to refresh via the gateway i get the below error.

__

Something went wrong

There was an error when processing the data in the dataset.

I installed Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 (64 bit) on both the gateway machine, and the machine holding the shared file.

I also checked the connection, it passes the connection test, and shows two sources- the excel source is shown with a full path specified.

I am completely baffled, can anyone suggest anything?

Thanks.

If your excel file type is not .xlsx, change it to .xlsx (Do not rename, use save as option) and see how it is working.
