Hi All,
My organization has lots of data in SharePoint Online excel spreadsheets so I am looking at creating Data flows for each one rather than having to continuously download them after users update them. My question is do I need a Gateway for SharePoint online data sources or can i just connect using a admin account and I can setup a schduled refresh without a gateway?
Thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,
Based on your description, you are using SharePoint Online as the data source.
If you are getting data from an online data source, you won’t need a gateway. However, if you are getting data from an on-premises data source, then you would need to have gateway setup.
To keep the data up to date, you need to set a refresh schedule by clicking the schedule refresh icon under actions for the dataflow in question. From here, you schedule data refresh in the same manner as you would with ta Power BI Report.
Best Regards,
Liang
