I am refreshing the report constantly getting "DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError - We're sorry, an error occurred during evaluation."
Following is the full error message:
{"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"We're sorry, an error occurred during evaluation."}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}}],"exceptionCulprit":1}}}
what does that mean? or what could be the issue(s)?
The error code "DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError" that you're encountering in Power BI typically indicates an issue with data access through the Power BI gateway. This error is often seen during the data refresh process when Power BI is unable to properly connect to or retrieve data from an external data source.
Gateway Configuration: Ensure that the gateway is correctly configured and is running the latest version. An outdated or misconfigured gateway can lead to connectivity issues.
Data Source Credentials: Verify that the credentials stored in the gateway for the data source are correct and have not expired. Incorrect or outdated credentials can prevent Power BI from accessing the data source.
Network Issues: Sometimes, network problems or DNS issues can disrupt the connection between the Power BI service and the data source. Check your network settings and ensure there are no such issues.
Query Errors: Review the queries used for accessing data. An error in the query logic or syntax could cause this error. Try running the query directly against the data source (outside of Power BI) to see if it executes successfully.
Permissions: Make sure that the account used by the gateway to access the data source has the necessary permissions. Lack of permissions can lead to access errors.
External Data Source Issues: There could be issues with the external data source itself (e.g., database down, changes in schema). Verify that the data source is operational and that there have been no changes affecting the query.
Firewall and Security: Check if any firewall rules or security settings have changed that might block the connection from the Power BI gateway to the data source.
