It seems like a change made this weekend has impacted the colors of activated slicer checkboxes but only in the Power BI service. Here's an example of what the checkbox looks like on the desktop app:
Very easy to see that the option is selected. The same report published on the Power BI service looked just like this until this past Sunday (5/24/20) and it now looks like this:
This is strange behavior and the published report is now very difficult to see which, if any, options are selected. Has anyone noticed this and is there a way to fix it?
Hi @JordanBuser ,
There are 2 workarounds: change the report theme or set the background color of slicers to other highlight colors other than black.

Hi @v-yiruan-msft ,
Thank you for your reply and I am aware that changing the background color on the slicers would improve visibility; however, this is not a tenable solution for us. We have dozens of reports that use a custom dark theme and changing all of them would be quite the undertaking. I assume that Microsoft is working on a fix for this?

Hi @JordanBuser ,
Could you please check if toggle off the option "Multi-select with CTRL"?
Best Regards
Rena
Hi @v-yiruan-msft ,
That was the first thing I checked as the appearance on the published dashboard is the same as desktop when multi-select with CTRL was on. It is not on and gives the expected appearance you are showing in your screenshot on desktop - the problem is once you publish it, the checkbox appearance looks like Multi-select with CTRL is ON but the interaction is correct (you don't need to use the CTRL key to make multiple selections).
Try publishing your example dashboard and look at the checkbox appearance and you should see the same issue.
Hi @JordanBuser ,
Yes, you are right. I face the similar situation with you when publish it to Power BI Service. In the case of setting the report theme to dark, we can judge whether it is the selected items by the border color of the check box. It is expected to be fixed in the next upgrade...
Best Regards
Rena
