Hi All
I've copied a report from one workspace to another. I've also moved the underlying data (in excel) to a new location.
I've created a dataset in the new workspace from the excel report. I'm trying to change the data source of the copied report to the dataset in the new workspace.
The report was created in Power BI service and it isn't allowing me to download a pbix file.
Is it possible to change the data source? It's exactly the same data and I'd rather not have to rebuild the report again.
Thanks!

Hi
It's in a different workspace. In the end i've just created the report again from scratch in the new workspace. I find how Power BI service and desktop interact to be quite user un-friendly and frustrating! I'm hoping some changes can be made in the future to make it more seamless!
Thanks for your suggestions.
You will need to download the PBIX and change it in Power Query by editing the Source line.
Hi Greg
Thanks for your reply. I am unable to download the PBIX (it is greyed out). Can I download it if the report wasn't created on desktop?
Thanks
Hi @Hannah13 ,
Based on my test, if the copied report is in the same workspace of the original report, it could be downloaded as .pbix file to local.

Icey

Hi @Hannah13 ,
Sorry for the unpleasant experience.
In addition, You can post your idea on Power BI Ideas.
It is a place for customers to provide feedback about Power BI.
What's more, if a feedback is highly voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
Best Regards,
Icey
