Best practice for refreshing large amount of reports in a workspace

Hi,

I have a workspace with up to 30 reports that needs to be refreshed every day. The main datasource is an Azure SQL database. So thats why not all reports should be refreshed at the same time.

Now I see only the possibility to schedule the updates over the day using the settings of the dataset. But this is a pain. There are deployed reports every month. 

How do would you handle this?

My workaround is using Azure Data Factory with the power BI service API to get all datasets using the API and refreshing them sequentially. But it would help a lot if you could configure the refresh of datasets as a global workspace setting (e.g. refresh all datasets starting at 8 am).

I understand your answer as "No". There is no way to config the update behavior of all datasets in a workspace at one place.

First of all , data refresh is based on dataset not report. Second, schedule refresh for different datasets has different refresh processes no matter if the datasets have same source.

Note also that the configured refresh time might not be the exact time when Power BI starts the next scheduled process. Power BI starts scheduled refreshes on a best effort basis. The target is to initiate the refresh within 15 minutes of the scheduled time slot, but a delay of up to one hour can occur if the service can't allocate the required resources sooner.

What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
