Dear PBI experts,
Pls provide advice
I faced following situation:
for my PBIX file SQL Database used as DataSource
i need to organize process of refresh data model by means of using gMSA windows domain account.
When i put gMSA account into User name Report Server asks me for gMSA password, but as username is gMSA,
i expect password for gMSA to be provided automatically.
should i use some Power Shell script for this task to change gMSA password automatically?
or there are some alternatives ways you may recommend to change password automatically without need of manual password changing ?
Bst rgrds,
Alexsandr

Hi @ryatatu ,
Try the following command in powershell.
New-ADServiceAccount [-Name] <string> -RestrictToOutboundAuthenticationOnly [-ManagedPasswordIntervalInDays <Nullable[Int32]>] [-PrincipalsAllowedToRetrieveManagedPassword <ADPrincipal[]>]
Also, you can refer to the following blog as below.

If the problem is still not resolved, please point it out and provide related operation screenshoots. Looking forward to your reply.

Henry

I think this has to be a manual process, but would suggest trying out with power automate once.
we consider it has no sense for us to change password manually, instead try to find some way to get passsword from AD and change it automatically by means of PS script, as described in this link:
did anybody have experience of getting gMSA password directly from AD by means of PS script ?
