can we connect data source which has more than 1 gb of data or more than 1M records through import mode in power bi desktop which is free subscri

Power BI Desktop is a free tool. When you use Power BI Desktop, the data size limit depends on your computer's available resource. Import models are loaded with data that is compressed and optimized and then stored to disk by the VertiPaq storage engine. When source data is loaded into memory, it's possible to see 10x compression, and so it's reasonable to expect that 10 GB of source data can compress to about 1 GB in size.

 

When you use Power BI service, the data limit depends on the license you have.
