R script - unable to connect

I have a issue with RScript. There is probably error with my User Account name (diacritics, spaces), more specifically with User folder name. I'd like to change it, is there any way how to repair it? When i tried on another PC with "good account name", it worked..

Thank you

Hi toncek87

   Thanks for your input - we have confirmed this as an issue and are working on a fix. Below is a workaround until this gets fixed:

  1. Open %USERPROFILE%\appdata\Local\Radio\settings.xml
  2. Add an entry to the XML:

  <ROutputDirectoryOverride>C:\temp</ROutputDirectoryOverride>

Place it below the <RHomeDirectoryOverride> node if this exists.

So it should look like this:

<RadioSettings xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">

  <RHomeDirectoryOverride>D:\RRO\R-3.1.3</RHomeDirectoryOverride>

  <ROutputDirectoryOverride>C:\temp</ROutputDirectoryOverride>

</RadioSettings>

The ‘C:\temp’ folder should be a local folder where you have access to and should contain no spaces at this point (until we fix this). This folder is used for temporary data PBI generates during the R script processing.

3. Restart PowerBI desktop – you should be good.

Please let us know if this fixed your problem,

Thanks.
