I'm trying to create a chart visual and table visual from the same table in Excel. The problem is the chart requires to unpivot multiple columns to get the data to present correctly. When I do this, the table visual loses the multiple column heads since they're set as rows from unpivot. Is there a way to create two table instances in Power BI that draw from the same source?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You could create multiple queries from the same source, but you could also use the unpivoted data format for both visuals. Instead of a table visual, you'd use a matrix visual to display the columns as you intend.

Thanks. I also figured out another way. Just create a duplicate table in Power Query (copy and paste table) and adjust pivot accordingly.
Yes, duplicating a query creates a new query from the same source with the same steps (which you can then modify as needed). I'd recommend unpivoting in general though.
Unpivoted was fine for the charts, but I needed to go back to the original format for the table visual.
