Get rid of personal login for Sharepoint

Hi!

I published a cool report using a SQL database and some Excels on Sharepoint. They need to be updated regularly and it is possible to schedule it. BUT for Sharepoint I need OAuth2 with my personal credentials. Now I'd like to go on holiday but keep the reports up-to-date. How to do that?

@Anonymous,

As long as you enter your credential for the Excel source when you set schedule refresh for the dataset in Power BI Service, the dataset will be updated regularly based on the schedule, you just need to enter this credential once.

However, if you still want to change this credential, you can go to “Options and settings->Data source settings-> find the Excel data sources->Edit permissions” in Power BI Desktop to change your credential to other colleague’s credential, the colleague must have sufficient permissions on the Excel data sources. Then you can publish the PBIX file to Power BI Service and enter the colleague’s credential for the Excel data sources in Service.

Lydia

Thank you for your answer!

I hoped there would be an option to use an anonymus login or something. PowerBI signs me out from Sharepoint every now and then and I'm afraid that will also happen on my holiday. But this is a work-around indeed.
