Connect MongoDB with ODBC connector problem

Hello guys!

I have an issue with an ODBC connector. I am using an ODBC DNS to connect to the MongoDB BI connector to retrieve data from a M30 type cluster. The connection is successful but its very slow when it is in the waiting for the DNS stage and its very often throws an error...

Is there any other way to connect to a MongoDB cluster instead of ODBC, or is there any way to make it load faster?

After this i have to use this connection to service as well, do you know any way for this connection?

Thank you for any help!

Hi @v-jingzhang, thanks for your help,

I have found another solution. In MongoDB there is MongoDB realm where you can make HTTP endpoints to specified collections. After you can connect to this endpoint with Power Query Web.Content function. With this connection you can also make scheduled refresh in Power BI Service as well! 🙂

Hi @MHaluska

I don't find other ways except ODBC. This blog is very detailed, so hope it would be helpful: https://medium.com/qimi-techblog/connecting-mongodb-hosted-in-mongo-atlas-with-powerbi-including-m0-...

To further use it and refresh data in Power BI Service, you may need to install an on-premises data gateway and configure it to connect to the same data source for refreshing.

Hi all,

I still see this error and have no idea how to solve it, any advice? I tried either ANSI or Unicode but result the same.
