Combining Files results in null values for a shared column

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue with combining files. I have two sets of data that I would like to combine. The first report has 10 columns while the second report has 21 columns, and there are several columns that are similarly named between the two reports.

One of my columns, called TimePeriod, is showing null values when combined, and I cannot understand why.

I did read somewhere that the report that has the most columns needs to the first sampled report, but I was hoping if there was an alternative, as there is a column that is unique to the first report that I must maintain, and if I were to load the report with the most columns, that column I need won't get imported.

I have attached a screenshot that shows a sampe of my two files, and then the combined data I see in power query

there are several columns that are similarly named between the two reports.

That doesn't matter at all. In fact, even the same name is not enough.  Power Query is case sensitive, so the column names must match exactly.

Please provide sample data that covers your issue or question completely, in a usable format (not as a screenshot).

Do not include sensitive information or anything not related to the issue or question.
