Hi, Im currently exploring some options to set up a cloud database which I will be integrating into my powerBI dashboards. Since I am using the PowerBI webapp I am rather limited in options, the most promising being the data gateway (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/data-integration/gateway/) in a setup like this: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/latest/using-power-bi-with-aws-cloud/connecting-the-microsof...
However, I am wondering what to expect from this gateway regarding the compute usage. The powerBI dashboard will only be used ocassionaly (~1h per day) so ideally Ill be using a dynamic compute server from Azure or AWS, but reading the docs on the data gateway doesnt make clear if this service supports that kind of dynamic scaling.
Does anyone have experience with such a setup? Any things to keep in mind?
It doesn't support scaling but it should work switching the resource on when you need it, and shutting it back off when the refresh is complete.
