I'm learning how to make Power BI custom connector, I'm following the documentation:
Creating your first connector - Hello World - Power Query | Microsoft Learn
and the training session:
https://youtu.be/srQ-DLqhoxM
But when I create a new Data Connector Project I'm not able to build and run the connector, I'm getting the error message: "The name 'TripPin.Contents' doesn't exist in the current context." in the query.pq file. I have tried in 3 different PCs and I'm having the same issue, how can I solve this issue in order to create my .mez file to be tested in Power BI desktop?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@ECorona Replace TripPin.Contents() with "Hello World" ? Seems like you might have started with the TripPin GitHub connector code sample versus starting an entirely new project from scratch.

Awesome, it works, but I did not started from the github repo, I was following the steps presented on the YouTube video.
But the issue happens with every new project, there's other brand new project without modifications
@ECorona Good to know, I'm creating my first custom connector as well so will have to see how it goes!
