Hi
I have a dashboard from which the user can drill through to a table that holds a list of records from the source system that needs reviewing. Either the source needs to be corrected or it should be ignored, the latter hopefully via a process in PowerBI. The table has a unique key, description and a number of attributes, including a resolved date, username.
Once the user has reviewed the record and deemed it as one to be ignored rather than corrected, I would like to update this review table to mark it as resolved so that we can monitor progress. I need to be able to do this for an individual record or a selection if I am able to add a checkbox next to each record, but this may be a step too far for me currently. Obviously Power Automate will probably be the tool I need to utilise for this but so far this is my 1st attempt at its abilities.
PowerBI does provide the option on a right-click to Include or Exclude on records which may or may not be useful, however I would like to extend this option or create an alternative such that if the record is to be excluded it will update the review table for the key and set it to resolved, along with the userID and date/time.
Being new to PowerBI I know of automate but I haven't seen any resources on how to trigger this action on records selected from a table.
Anyone have an idea for this complex 1st challenge for me in the application!
Kind regards
David

"Obviously Power Automate will probably be the tool I need to utilise"
Not really. For a halfway satifying UX you will want to look into using the PowerApps visual instead. Be aware though that closed look data write-back is not (yet) implemented in Power BI in any meaningful way. The most real time you can get is the combination of a Direct Query data source (for example SQL Server) with a PowerApps visual that can write into said data source (which requires a Premium license for Power Apps) and a friendly user who doesn't mind hitting the refresh button all the time.
