cant connection odbc

Hello,

We have a report created by establishing an ODBC connection in the Power BI environment. While we are able to refresh data on the desktop, we encounter difficulties performing the data refresh when publishing to the Power BI cloud environment. Could it be that the cloud environment doesn't support the ODBC connection? We are anticipating a detailed response regarding this matter.

Best regards,

Hello,

First of all many thanks to your answer. And then I want to explain more about it. We're using ODBC instead of Microsoft's PostgreSQL connector to access the database. We don't encounter any issues when setting up this ODBC connection; in other words, we successfully configure it to connect to the database. Additionally, we have a gateway in place. We don't encounter errors when setting up the ODBC definition within this gateway. However, when attempting to refresh the 'semantic model,' which represents the structural changes in the database, we encounter an error. This is the error we got when we want to refresh the report on cloud: Data source error: {"error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","pbi.error":{"code":"DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_MashupDataAccessError","parameters":{},"details":[{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorCode","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingErrorMessage","detail":{"type":1,"value":"The column 'id' of the table wasn't found."}},{"code":"DM_ErrorDetailNameCode_UnderlyingHResult","detail":{"type":1,"value":"-2147467259"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Detail","detail":{"type":1, "value": "id"}},{"code":"Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.Reason", "detail":{"type":1, "value": "Expression. Error"}}], "exceptionCulprit":1}}} Table: item_view.

@cigdemmayy , Is the source on-premise?

To address Power BI cloud refresh issues with an on-premises ODBC connection, set up an On-premises Data Gateway. This gateway facilitates secure data transfer between your local data sources and Power BI's cloud services.

Power BI Install On-Premise Gateway and configure it on service: https://youtu.be/lObMRofpbQ8
